I have now been here for dinner twice. The first was for a nice quiet dinner and the second was for a birthday. I was impressed both times. The location is in the trendy Argenta district and in a building that is not cramped and with ample street parking (so don't let that deter you from crossing the bridge!). The restaurant has a modern feel to it and at first, would scare off old dorks like myself until you are greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff. Now, let's talk about the food. This is going to sound a bit elitist, but here goes. Anyone who frequents gourmet restaurants in bigger cities know that a shorter menu is a better menu. It simply assured me that there was plenty of thought and skill put behind each dish from the ingredients to the presentation. So don't let the one page menu cloud your judgement. I had the vegetable tostada and enjoyed it quite a bit. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. I am no food writer and lack general flowery language about food, but damn, I never thought I would enjoy carrots so much. My appetizer consisted of the truffle oil and power greens flatbread and it was equally as delicious. The drink menu was great and I have now had about 4 of the cocktails on the menu and enjoyed them all. I would recommend the classic male. Overall, the restaurant is a great addition to Central Arkansas and I am excited that Donnie Ferneau has opened a new place. His previous restaurant was a staple when I previously lived here. I would highly recommend this place for all the aspects of what makes a restaurant great - the staff, food, drinks, and entire experience. Even with my rowdy group of girls, the entire staff and Mr. Ferneau were fantastic. I give it a five because I have always enjoyed going and simply needed to boost the average star rating to encourage folks like myself to go! Now just to see what the place is like during the day...

I expected so much more. Went for lunch and was one of 5 customers. The chicken was hot and tough as though it was heated in the microwave. Leaving the restaurant we saw several workers filling the back of trucks with food I can only assume they were throwing away since they were loading meat open in the bed of a small pick up truck. We then realized they were loading lots of food in the dumpster. I'm happy I'm not there later today when that food starts smelling rancid. This was not a good atmosphere and the food was less than cafeteria style. I gave them 2 stars simply because of the decor, parking and the very nice waitress.

The worst meal I've ever paid for. I know in this time of health consciousness we try to make good healthy decisions. But the substitutions made here are not only implausible but disgusting as well...

Excellent food that is good for you. This is one of lesser known gems in central Arkansas. Located in the trendy Argenta district of North Little Rock, they specialize in locally produced meat, produce, and beers. No pesticides, hormones, or other stuff that is bad for your body. The decor is casual, chic, black and white. The wait staff is very friendly. We had the beef tenderloin with smashed potatoes and fresh broccoli. Desert was a flight of local made ice cream. Do yourself a favor and hit this place as soon as you can.

This restaurant is open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings with a limited menu. I went last night (9/27). The feel of the restaurant is retro modern (think Ikea), with a large portion of the seating consisting of tables with benches on either side. The black and white color scheme looks cool, yet antiseptic. There was plenty of seating, and getting a table at 8 p.m. on a Saturday wasn't a problem for us. The menu had a choice of a few entrees and two desserts. The entrees offered were in the $20-$26 range and consisted of roast chicken, tri-tip roast and shrimp and grits. I ordered the $20 roast chicken. It was served on a bed of black bean and quinoa with a steamed squash medley on the side. The flavor of everything was fairly light, with the black bean and quinoa being the only item on the dish that was even mildly interesting. They also had a cocktail menu featuring several interesting choices. I had a spicy Bloody Mary ($7). It was unremarkable. I wouldn't hesitate to pay $20+ for an entree at a restaurant, but my expectations of what I'd get would be high. For what I got at this place, I was daydreaming of what the same sort of money could have bought me elsewhere.

Phenomenal. The service was great. Waiter was very knowledgable over menu. The owner came out to greet us and sat at our table to get feedback. Extremely personable. The food was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend and I had the Beef Tenderloin requested medium rare. It was cooked perfectly, great flavor, and a sizable portion. The potatoes were very good. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and it was just as good as the rest of the meal. There was live music and a great atmosphere. Please try this restaurant. It will not disappoint

First time here. Having the little big app---delicious! The derrell chicken is fantastic. I can taste how fresh it is. This will become a frequent place easily for me.

I was actually there on 06/26/2015, the day "Contessa S." says there was "heavy metal rock music blasting", that is just not true. There could not have been a very long wait for food or the bathroom, since this particular Friday night the place was less than half full and my service was EXCELLENT as well as the food.

I had lunch here for the first time this week, so I thought I would come back with my wife and try it for dinner. We were not disappointed. The Atmosphere - My wife and I loved the atmosphere. It was southern, yet modern, with a touch of Mad Men style thrown in. Casual, not stuffy at all. You feel comfortable here. The Service - The service tonight was truly exceptional. The people who work here truly love what they are doing and it shows. They are excited about the food they serve, the concept behind the food, about it all being locally sourced, about Donnie Ferneau, and they were all so friendly. Seriously, we felt like we made a friend with our waiter. Not to mention, Donnie Ferneau, who came out to the table and visited with us. I can't say enough good things about the service. The Food - The food was exceptional! We started out with a charcuterie appetizer made up of some of the delicious treats that Butcher & Public create. Man it was terrific! For our entrees, I had the Rack of Lamb and my wife had the Mahi Mahi. No one in Arkansas serves better Rack of Lamb than Donnie Ferneau. I used to have it all the time at his place on Kavanaugh and I can tell you he hasn't lost his touch. It was outstanding! My wife's Mahi Mahi was perfection on a plate! Seriously some of the best fish either of us have ever had in Little Rock or anywhere for that matter. Pecan Pie for dessert and it was quite good, but the stars of the meal were the entrees. Cocktails - Normally I don't get into the beverage service but the cocktails here were quite exceptional as well. Again, it all goes back to having a knowledgeable staff who is good at what they do, and like the rest of the fine folks at Good Foods, the bartender there is a Star! This restaurant is definitely one of the bright lights in the Central Arkansas dining scene. It is just across the river from downtown Little Rock in North Little Rock. Downtown North Little Rock has got it going on! I highly recommend Good Food by Ferneau and can't wait to go back!

Amazing food! I had the pork tenderloin with chutney, sweet potato mash, and broccoli. Pork is melt-in-your mouth tender, smoky, and the best I've had anywhere. Sides were seasoned well and remarkable. The Elvis Brulee for dessert? Put it on your bucket list. Oh, and they have the Stone's Throw Rye on tap Deco at the restaurant is cool and modern -- very relaxing. Best dining exprrience I've had.

A delightful experience. The food is amazing. The owner and staff are polite and friendly. They go out of their way to be sure you are satisfied. The atmosphere is unique and creates a comfortable experience for a couple or a large group. The menu is small but offers fresh, quality food in a diverse range of choices. Vegetarian and gluten free friendly options. I appreciate that the menu only uses fresh, sustainable ingredients. Our server was more than willing to split checks for a large party at the end of dinner. The owner made a point to personally. welcome all restaurant guests. I would welcome this restaurant to my top ten dining experiences.

I feel a little bad that my experience didn't meet the expectations that other reviews had set...I wanted to love it, I swear. Lunch is counter order which is fine, make sure to look left for the specials as I initially missed them. I really felt like we we an imposition to the staff member that took our order today, he seemed to lack patience that we'd never been in previously and took a minute to get the concept and order our meal. It was after out food arrived we realized silver service is grab your own from a table in the corner. I went for the special carnitas which were fine; I would have loved more black beans and sauce and less white rice but they were good. My lunch companion ordered the chicken/veggie dish over rice and felt it over all lacked flavor and the chicken was dry and bland. I will return because the dishes discussed in previous reviews sound great, we didn't get a chance to try any of those because they were not offered at today. Just a note: we were one of 5 tables at lunch, I hope they haven't downgraded as of late because that could indicate trouble.

I was so impressed I asked to meet the owner. First time I ate fried chicken in over 7 years! Oh my gosh and I had pecan pie too: all fresh, all g free. Amazing. He was super great and told us his story. We will be there all the time now. you can taste the freshness and every bite was so delicious. Try the Main St Martini too! The atmosphere here is unlike any other place in the metro: a little hipster chic with a touch of glam. I love the transformation of the corner grocery into a beautiful dining experience. We can't wait to try the take home meals for the family. Impressive eye for details, attention to service and table, and most importantly the food flavors were excellent! The bar space is charming and inviting as well. I could see myself and my friends enjoying a night out here. My husband equally enjoyed his meal.
